If you take our Boot Camp logo literally you might think our goal is to break you down to build you back up, kind of like the military. If that’s what you’re looking for, you’ve got the wrong facility.
We’re not your average PA Boot Camp! We like to think of our Boot Camp program as Group Personal Training. In fact, you might find that you get more instruction and personal attention, at Marino’s Boot Camp then you do with a one-on-one Trainer at most gyms.
Our Boot Camp program incorporates a Metabolic Resistance Training circuit that is guaranteed to burn 9x the amount of fat compared to traditional cardio. The program is changed weekly to sustain your motivation, and to constantly expose you to a varied training stimulus which is essential to helping you transform your body.
Although you might do a little running, or a few push-ups, our goal is to provide you with progressively challenging strength exercises using a variety of tools that are rarely accessible in more traditional Boot Camp programs. You’ll train on the TRX suspension trainer, swing Kettlebells, press and pull with Bands & Dumbbells, Slam Medicine Balls, Sprint on an Airdyne bicycle, Flip a Tractor Tire, and you might even do your first Chin Up.
- 1-to-12 Instructor to Participant Ratio (more like 1-to-6 or 8 )

Customized Personal Training

Personal Training at Marino’s Body Shop is a unique experience. We’ve found a way to make you more accountable, help you get more out of your workouts, and increase the energy of each session while saving you $. How do we do it? Our Clients meet in a Semi-Private or Small Group and perform a customized workout that is designed to specifically address your goals. Semi-private training provides for a high-energy environment, allowing you to be motivated by your peers while an expert coach provides instruction and supervisions to ensure you’re executing your training program to perfection.
How is this different from Boot Camp? First, you receive a complete evaluation to help us determine your strengths in addition to uncovering areas that you need to improve on for both training safely and enhancing results. Second, you get a customized training plan based on your evaluation that updates every 4 weeks. Third, you’ll train in a group with a Trainer-to-Client ratio of no more than 1-to-3, which provides greater opportunity for us to provide optimal attention and coaching. Fourth, the Semi-Private arrangement allows us to organize the workouts so that you get the most out of your Core, Strength, and Cardio components of your Training Plan. Last, we maintain complete records of your workouts allowing us to more effectively progress your weights and intensity levels to maximize the effectiveness of your training.
What’s more, you’ll get to exercise on our Vibration Platform, which helps increase strength & stability faster than traditional strength training. And, all Semi-Private Clients who commit to Training twice weekly or more also get complimentary access to our Boot Camp Training classes.

Strength & Conditioning for High School Sports

We’ve got a problem with the majority of Strength & Conditioning Programs available for High School Athletes in the area. First, most don’t address the fundamental needs of the Athletes. Second, there is too much focus on conditioning drills when young athletes really need to develop strength, build muscle, and learn to train safely. Third, the Coach-to-Athlete ratio at most facilities is far from optimal to provide adequate supervision or instruction to your Athlete. Last, they are charging you way too much money for the value that they provide.
Our Athletic Strength & Conditioning program is designed to facilitate optimal performance on the Athletic field, by providing a strong foundation for School & Club Coaches to work with. We understand that the best performance improvements are not achieved in the gym, but on the playing field and at practice. We also know that athletes who fail to train in the off-season to get strong enough to support the demands of their sport often find themselves sidelined at some point during the season. Moreover, athletes who fail to keep up their Strength Training program in-season often experience a drop-off in performance and higher injury risk as the season progresses. Ultimately, we develop Unbreakable Athletes that have superior body awareness, optimal body composition for their sport, above average strength & explosiveness compared to age-matched peers, and provide their coaches with a season-lasting stamina.
Our goal, at Marino’s Body Shop is to help create unbreakable athletes by
- optimizing movement potential,
- increasing joint stability (i.e. rotator cuff, knees, etc),
- maximizing core strength & stability, and
- improving overall strength & power
Moreover, we recognize that many student-athletes fail to get results from popular conditioning programs because they are not taught how to eat to support their training. We provide all of our athletes with a Nutrition manual that simplifies what can be a complex subject for both Athletes and their Parents. Additionally, once a month we offer a Nutrition Workshop to help discuss the challenges you face in providing adequate nutrition to your Athlete, and answer some of the many questions that tend to confuse both Parents and Athletes.
- 1-to-6 Coach to Athlete Ratio
- Movement & Flexibility Evaluation
- Customized Training Plan (adjusts every 4 weeks)
- Nutrition Coaching
How can you tell if your Athlete is in a Poor Program? If they’ve ever come home and told you that they got “sick” during a training session.
Because of our limited space, we do have an application process that Athletes must complete to determine whether we will accept them into the program.
First, we need to meet together with the Athlete and Parents.
Athletes who are accepted into the program will possess the following characteristics:
- Discipline
- Ability to take instruction
- Willingness to Work Hard
- Participates in the following sports: Soccer, Field Hockey, Lacrosse, Baseball/Softball, Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Golf, Skiing/Boarding, Track & Field
